NOMADS 0 NORTHWICH VICTORIA 0

It was all square last night as Nomads continued their pre-season with another draw against higher opposition, this time Northwich Victoria.

After the game manage Jake Davies gave us an update.

“Overall it was another strong peformance against another strong opponent in the division above.

Our front line looked a little different and it definitely disturbed some of the rotations and the understanding we have as a group to create the overloads and problems for the opposition, this had a real influence in the first 20 mins or so and we struggled to get a grip on the game. We made a change early doors and this definitely calmed us down and we looked more like ourselves.

2nd half was really strong, we retained and processing the game more and caused them more issues, we just didn’t have enough quality in the final third and last action to get the winning goal. We can do much more to create opportunities as that’s been a huge success in the last season and we just need to sharpen up on that area.

Defensively we look much stronger, we’re more compact and much harder to play against which is really pleasing. All in all another good game for us, more minutes for players and a step closer to being ready for that first game on 30th July.”

Next up is the other side from Northwich as 1874 arrive on Saturday, 3pm kick off.

If you need a football fix our Reserves are in action tomorrow night against Chadderton FC Reserves, 7pm kick off.
