Cheadle Heath Nomads poor run of league form continued following a hugely disappointing performance against Abbey Hulton United.
Nomads made three changes to the side held by Ellesmere on Saturday, a defensive reshuffle with Greenfield and Wright replaced by Horner and Taylor. George Blackwell was preferred to Keiran Alley on the left side of midfield.
The first half was slow and scrappy with neither side able to create any real openings. Kyle Foley with the home sides best chance.

The second half started brightly for Nomads, Blackwell seeing his shot cleared off the line as the home side looked to try and increase the match tempo.
However, it was the visitors who grabbed the lead shortly after. Full back Sam Wytcherley with a smart finish past a hesitant Willan in the Nomads goal.
This seemed to give Abbey Hulton a boost in confidence as they controlled the game, Nomads unable to sustain any periods of possession.
It was soon 2-0, Nomads claiming for offside but Cope looked to have timed his run to perfection as he kept his composure to double the visitors lead.
Nomads tried to get back into the game, introducing Alley and a fit again Daniel Byrnes but they couldn’t create any real chances, the goals really drying up, just 8 scored in their last 10 games.
Cope had the final word with a late penalty before completing his hat trick after more poor defending from the home side.

After the game we got the thoughts of Manager Jake Davies:
“There isn’t much else to say from last night other than the performance just simply wasn’t good enough. The manor in which we lost the game and the manor in which we conceded our goals was appalling.
Collectively we all have to do a lot more, we can’t feel sorry for ourselves, we need strong characters, leaders and a resilient attitude to overcome scenarios when they are happening and across the season we haven’t done this.
I take full responsibility and apologise deeply to our supporters and committee who had to witness our second half display, I know how much time they devote to being behind us and we really let everyone down. A reaction in the weekends game against Maine Road is absolutely essential and nothing else.”
