Nomads reserves could not build on their point gained against Windle Labour last week as they lost their latest Cheshire league match 4-2 away at Styal.
Despite reaching the half level at 2-2, thanks to goals from Jordan Wirral and George Howarth, Nomads young team couldn’t repeat the performance in the second half and had no response as Styal added 2 more goals to their total.
Manager Callum Davies had this to say:
“A positive start saw nomads start brightly and look to build a lot of attacks down the left side of the pitch. Creating half chances at best was beginning to look frustrating. However around 25 mins in George Howarth crosses a ball for which Jordon Worrall opened his account for the season.
10 mins later nomads have a huge chance through Joel Riley to make it 2 for which proves costly. A poor error in the box straight after this chance for which the Styal forward is brought down for a penalty, for which he scored.
We come in at half time 2-2 with George Howarth scoring from what looked to be a cross.
Second half saw Styal grow even more and when nomads found it tough, we just didn’t respond. Styal quickly made it 3-2 whilst having control of the game. Making it 4-2 late on in the game.
A disappointing second half display meaning the team need to respond with a better reaction next time out.
Thanks to Styal for the hospitality and best wishes to for the rest of the season”
